Chinese Foot Binding was a practice mostly in rural China in which the feet of young girls was tightly bound to prevent the feet from growing and so they remained small. This was done as it was considered that a smaller foot in the female was more desirable and erotic. The practice is now outlawed in China as it was so harmful.
