Chinese Foot Binding

Chinese foot binding is a historical practice in China in which the feet of young children were tightly bound to stop them growing. A smaller foot was considered more erotic. The practice results in substantial pain and disability. Social pressures and changing times eventually meant the practice is no longer carried out.
