Onychomycosis is a common fungal condition of the toenails. The main risk factor for Onychomycosis the dark and moist environment inside footwear. As this risk factor is still present during whichever treatment is used, it makes treatment prolonged and the success rate low. The success rate is low due to the reinfection rate being so high. There are many different treatment options available depending on the preference of the practitioner and the extent of the infection.
